Global Purpose Movement presents:
The Purpose Summit Berlin

In the midst of our current global crises, a new wave of social transformation is building across the world. United in pursuit of the greatest good, emergent movements in business, science, politics, spirituality, organizational development and personal transformation are expanding our collective consciousness. Purpose—the unique calling we each possess—is at the core of this shift. Over the last two decades, groundbreaking research in science and psychology has found that individuals and organizations that operate with purpose experience better relationships, health, and cognitive performance; moreover, they are more successful and more likely to lead. In a recent open letter, for example, Larry Fink—CEO of the world’s largest investment firm, Blackrock—emphasized the fundamental role that purpose plays in empowering companies to achieve both full potential and optimum performance.

Global Purpose Movement (GPM) is a dynamic project dedicated to igniting the fire of purpose everywhere. Initiated in the United States, GPM aims to connect with like minded networks across the world so we may together realize the dream of a society rooted in truth, justice, and love. We see purpose as the primary expression and fastest path to a world that works for everyone and rejects antagonisms of class and identity. When individuals and organizations truly find and live their purpose, they are connected to an unending and irrepressible source of power, clarity and passion. This commitment to purpose and co-creation is the basis for positive social change.

The GPM  team has been running successful events in the U.S. and now seeks to offer our catalytic events around the world. In doing so, our purpose is to empower a global network of sacred activists, spiritual teachers, embodiment practitioners, social entrepreneurs, academic researchers, conscious organizations and leadership professionals—all of whom play key roles in this transformative global shift.

This summer, on June 2-3, we are hosting Purpose Summit Berlin, Germany. This event will bring together over 30 leaders, teachers and innovators whose work is at the cutting edge of where purpose is landing globally in business, politics, science, psychology, organizational and leadership development, and personal, social and global transformation.

This event is for you if you want to:

  • Find and live your purpose
  • Experience engaging workshops and inspiring speakers
  • Link your project to global organizations
  • Scale your impact
  • Network with a like-minded community of changemakers, social entrepreneurs and spiritual activists from around the world

Bruce Lyon (via skype)
Bruce Lyon (via skype)

About Bruce in his own words: “At the core my life is about living and loving as fully , richly and freely as possible while empowering others to do the same. This is my contribution to an emergent global culture anchored in love and reverberating with the sound of freedom – the unique essence of the human spirit. I work principally with the two flows of life force we call sexuality and spirituality because they provide the fastest path I know to liberation, initiation and remembrance of essential embodied divinity. I also focus on the yoga of relationship, – with the cosmos, each other and all the kingdoms of the planet. I have a particular interest in the co-creation of temples and the emergence of the modern day mystery schools, which result from awake, alive human beings in resonant harmony with their inner and outer environments. Ultimately it is the revelation and remembrance of this beautiful planet as the sacred home it has always been, rich with mysteries and potentials awaiting our awakening and evolutionary unfolding. Whether we meet in person, in the virtual world of the web or the subtle worlds of spirit, may our meeting be a mutual charging of the life force and a deepening of each other’s capacity to love.” Learn more about Bruce at http://www.brucelyon.com.

Elizabeth Debold
Elizabeth Debold

I call myself a “gender futurist”—gender and social change have been my focus for the past four decades. The first half of that time, I spent as a women’s rights activist and studied developmental psychology at Harvard University (with Dr. Carol Gilligan) to learn how our identities as women and men are formed. During my time at Harvard, I co-authored a bestselling book, Mother Daughter Revolution. The second half began with joining the spiritual community EnlightenNext where I went deeper into the foundations of self and relationship rooted in consciousness itself. I have come to realize that our gender identities are so entangled in sociopolitical reality that change most often results in new versions of old problems. I work with “We” dialogue contexts to create experimental microcultures that creatively engage with diversity within a field of unity. I founded One World in Dialogue and co-lead emerge bewusstseinskultur e.V., a German educational charity, as spaces for this new dynamic, dialogic consciousness and culture to emerge. www.oneworldindialogue.com

Daniel Pinchbeck: The Greatest Opportunity We Have Ever Had

We are living in a time of accelerating progress and existential threat. In humanity’s rush to industrial globalization, we have unleashed an ecological emergency that could bring about our own extinction in the short term or lead to a civilizational crash. However, if we overcome our fear and distraction, we can realize that this emergency is also our greatest opportunity: Awakening to the challenge, we can rapidly reinvent and redesign our technical and social infrastructure to make a transition from a destructive virus on the Earth to a planetary immune system, caring for the health and diversity of the biosphere as we enhance the lives of everyone on Earth. Let’s consider how we bring about this great transition.

Ken Wilber: Integral Purpose: Ultimate Truth in Relative Reality (via skype)

The tricky part about purpose is keeping both the ultimate and the relative in mind.  In the ultimate domain, there is no actual purpose in any real sense—everything, exactly as it is right now, is utterly and radically perfect—the Great Perfection. But then in the manifest, relative realm, everything is lacking something, and purpose is the way that those missing holes are filled—which also gives a relative meaning to the relative self (which definitely has a relative reality!).  So it is in relative reality where we get to the AQAL Framework and Integral Theory—while keeping it grounded in the ultimate truth of nondual spirit.

Aneel Chima: The Role of Deep Purpose Making in Human Flourishing

Our current cultural moment demands the very best from us individually and collectively. In an age of ever-accelerating cultural rhythms, of hyper-complexity, and of tech ubiquity, what is the future of human flourishing and, most importantly, how do we practice and propagate it? A common thread unifying the range of possible answers is, simply put, cultivating deep purpose. Finding purpose and making meaning is at the core of the human enterprise–it fuels motivation, builds resilience, gives focus and direction to our lives, and galvanizes communities into transformation. During this talk we will explore the intersection of purpose and human flourishing because without deep purpose there exists no foundation for individual or collective flourishing.

Ervin Laszlo: Our Purpose in the New Paradigm (via skype)

A new paradigm is emerging at the cutting edge of the contemporary sciences of nature, life, and mind. This is a revolutionary paradigm fundamentally different from the mainstream interpretation of cosmos and consciousness. Acquaintance with this paradigm changes the way we think of ourselves and of the world. We obtain fresh answers to perennial questions, such as where have we come from? where are we going? and who are we?  If we have a purpose in life, that purpose will be encompassed by the new paradigm. But to discover it we each have to inquire ourselves — the framework and the key concepts for doing so are offered in the new paradigm.

Cassandra Vieten: Purpose to Impact: The Art and Science of Advocacy

Social-, cognitive-, and neuroscience have a lot to tell us about how people actually change their minds and how they are inspired to take action.  In this talk, learn how the science of consciousness transformation can boost your effectiveness as a change agent. Make your talks, strategies, and media more engaging and powerful by incorporating specific strategies that research indicates work to change worldviews and behaviors, and avoiding methods that science indicates are ineffective or unintentionally counterproductive. We will also explore the qualities one might practice and embody to enhance their change-making work, such as dignity, authenticity, trustworthiness, vulnerability, and inspiration.

Barbara Marx Hubbard: Awakening the New Species in You (via skype)

This is the moment I have been born for. I have spoken throughout the years that Our Crisis is Birth, before there was a crisis or a birth!  Now there are both simultaneously. This has encouraged me to offer for the first time a genuine EVOLUTIONARY JOURNEY to the world.  It is a once a week Call to “Awakening the New Species in You.” This year-long journey on Internet is open to all who choose to subscribe.  It is a Call that assumes that many of us are becoming newer, that we are awakening to new capacities, new vocations and above all new levels of love. We are yearning to connect with others and to join our genius with one another. In partnership with Humanity’s Team we launched “Awaken the New Species” on Nov. 7 a convening of leaders of this movement. People are invited to connect now.

Duane Elgin: Humanity’s Journey: Becoming Bio-Cosmic

For centuries, science has assumed the universe is “dead” or non-living at its foundations. New discoveries are transforming this view and science is beginning to reconsider Plato’s ancient insight that, “The universe is a single living creature that contains all living creatures within it.” In this emerging understanding, the universe is a unified living system that is almost entirely invisible and permeated by an ecology of consciousness. We humans are an integral aspect of this larger aliveness and, like the universe itself, we also are almost entirely invisible. We are both biological and cosmic beings. We are bio-cosmic. With this growing understanding, humanity is beginning to turn from the material exploitation of a dead universe to an entirely different life-trajectory — learning to live in a living universe. Our bodies are biodegradable vehicles for this precious learning.

Drew Dellinger: Cosmology of Connection

Drew Dellinger, internationally-known speaker and author of the award-winning poetry collection Love Letter to the Milky Way, is a vehicle for authentic purpose as he expresses himself through the art of poetry. Allow yourself to listen deeply and allow his words to open you to greater purpose and passion within your heart.

Emanuel Kuntzelman: Purpose Rising

From the beginning of time there has been purpose in the universe. It came out of the primordial field of consciousness as the fine tuning that made the growth of galaxies possible. It is the life-force that drives evolution and that which awakens the human spirit. There is nothing more powerful than purpose, as it is our reason for being. Yet it becomes manifest in the individual mind and on the Earth in a myriad of ways. Now is the time to activate our highest purpose, both individually and collectively. On an individual level it should reach to the depths of our souls and resonate as the reason for which we were born. On a planetary scale it means a re-affirmation of human rights and civil liberties within democratic traditions to ensure a peaceful, equitable, and inclusive society that will be the foundational premise for the greatest transformation in human history. Purpose thus summons itself to actualize a flourishing future for Earth and its inhabitants.

Mikey Siegel, Mina Lee, Bo Shao, Todd Jason & Jeff Parrett: Scaling Consciousness

The greatest challenge facing humanity is humanity itself. If we are to survive we must change ourselves. This presents a unique challenge. One possible solution is to make highly effective tools for transformation universally accessible across geography, culture and socioeconomic status. This is the scaling problem. We’ll be solving it during our panel discussion or your money back.

Emanuel Kuntzelman, Drew Dellinger, Cassandra Vieten, & Lawrence Ellis: The Spiritual Rebirth of Democracy

In these critical times of divisive politics and planetary challenges, we see that the very foundations of democracy are being eroded.  In order to restore and improve the democratic principles needed for a society that stands for dignity and justice for everyone, we will explore the need to reaffirm the highest values and spiritual underpinnings of a truly democratic society.  Not only does democracy need to be maintained throughout the world, it must be re-evaluated in terms of the twenty-first century to ensure a radically inclusive process that works in service to the good of the whole.  It is time to put our collective purpose to work in order to evolve a robust democratic system that will give us leadership imbued with altruism and vision for the future stability of humanity and planet earth.

Dustin DiPerna, Jon Darrall-Rew, Ahmed Alashwah, Leela Bergerud, & Gigi Azmy: The Future of Spirituality and Purpose

In this panel, spiritual teachers and practitioners will explore the connection between spirituality and purpose. We’ll explore what it means to not just engage a path of spiritual awakening into ever deeper wholeness, but also the path of discovering, revealing and actualizing our unique purpose in service of the whole, and what it means to play a role in catalyzing the spiritual awakening and purpose discovery in others, and in humanity as a whole.

Emanuel Kuntzelman, Allan Combs, Holly Woods, & Eleanor Blake: The Evolution of Purpose

Purpose was initially the “simple,” driving force of evolution, establishing the initial conditions to bring a material universe into existence. After nearly 14 billion years of work, it then created minds of self-reflective consciousness that have rediscovered the original field of spirituality. Now, evolution has brought us the wisdom and insight that gives us the ability to analyze the very purpose that got us here so that we can take it to the next level of its own purpose. At the Purpose Summit, we can witness how purpose co-creates itself with the power of our own evolutionary thought, forming a positive feedback loop that reinforces the essence of purpose and pushes it through to generate a higher understanding of humanity’s role in the cosmos. In this panel discussion, we will explore this phenomenon and its implications for the evolution of our species during this vital moment in human history.

Jonathan Gustin: The Triple Purpose of Life

The triple purpose of life: wake up to Spirit, grow up into emotional adulthood, and show up with our soul’s purpose as a gift of service to life.  When supported by enlightened awareness and emotional adulthood, the path of soul discovery opens us up to the experience of the descent to soul, a burrowing into our depths where we discover our place, our gifts, our people and our purpose-beyond-self.  If successful, we discover the thrilling place where, “…our deepest gladness and the world’s hunger meet.”

Andrea Dennis, Brandon Peele, Aneel Chima, Cynthia Hendricks, & Julian Norris: We Are All Related: Co-Creating a Flourishing Earth

Following Aneel Chima’s talk that explores human flourishing and the role of purpose, we continue the discussion with a panel of multidisciplinary leaders. Since we know from both indigenous wisdom and modern science that everything in the universe is intimately interconnected, we also know that human flourishing is deeply interwoven with the harmonious thriving of all life on earth. In this panel, we will continue to explore the cultivation of human flourishing through purpose-making and investigate our potential to flower more fully than we can currently imagine as part of the living, breathing fabric of the Earth and Universe we call home.

Brandon Peele: Writing the Next Chapter of Your Life on Purpose

Are you at a crossroads?  Are you awash with the many opportunities to satisfying your desires and nurture your values?  If so, it is time to purposefully, intentionally write this next chapter of your life.  We’ll do two powerful exercises, one to reveal the deeper threads of your personal narrative, connecting your deepest values and greatest achievements, and another to physically move you into the next chapter of your purposeful life.

Shamini Jain, Cassandra Vieten & Claudia Welss: The Well of Being: How Our Personal Well-Being Fuels Planetary Purpose

What is well-being and how does it relate to purpose? How does our experience of well-being lead to transformation in ourselves as well as throughout social systems?  In this panel, scientists, clinical psychologists and social purpose instigators Dr. Cassandra Vieten (President, IONS), Claudia Welss, (IONS Board Chair, NEXUS Invest in Yourself Co-Founder) and Dr. Shamini Jain (Founding Director, Consciousness and Healing Initiative), share the science and practice of well-being (including hedonic and eudaimonic aspects of well-being), and explore with you, how the well of our being leads us to better understand and fuel our personal and planetary purpose.

Laura Rose, Jake Merriman, Sai Hossain, Lisa Chacon & Pam Kramer: Transforming Organizations with the Power of Purpose

Deep inside, we all long for work that allows us to feel authentic, passionate, and purposeful. However, most organizations and businesses today aren’t structured to support this kind of human flourishing in their communities. Fortunately, leaders are beginning to find that purpose can be a powerful tool to change this and there are many organizations embodying these changes already. In this panel, you will hear from visionaries in the conscious business movement who are transforming leadership, creating new organizational structures and deeply aligning their organizations with purpose. You will hear dynamic discussions with questions like: How can an organization find its purpose and allow the individuals within it to express their individuality and thrive? Is it possible to create a world in which every enterprise serves the greatest good of the whole? What tools and technologies can we utilize to help organizations evolve swiftly and sustainably? Jon Darrall-Rew, DJ Taz Rashid & Max Gaenslen: Purpose Vibration Celebration

Join DJ Taz Rashid and Jon Darrall-Rew of the Global Purpose Movement in this event that will combine collective meditations to awaken our consciousness and every person’s unique purpose with conscious movement, great music, binaural beats and dance. We see purpose as an electric current of empowerment, clarity and creativity that lies at the core of every being, and dance as a highly effective way to support us to embody our purpose. Max Gaenslen will also utilize principles of Integral Transformative Practice to bring the group into a collective state of embodied consciousness, wonder and play. We will engage this evening event as a collective ritual that can link us up with humanity as a whole during these crucial times of our collective journey.

Roger Marsh & Julie Perkins: A Taste of Integral Transformative Practice: Evolutionary Love in Practice

Come explore Integral Transformative Practice® a research-based program for realizing your fullest potential.  In this experiential session, you will learn what ITP is, its roots in Esalen and how it may benefit you in your daily life.  Offering a comprehensive integral approach, ITP combines proven practices for nurturing and developing all parts of ourselves – body, mind, heart, and soul.  Grounded in evolutionary love and built on the underlying philosophy that every soul naturally desires to manifest its divinity, find greater fulfillment, more love and resilience, ITP is a potent transformative path.  Enjoy a taste of GRACE, and an induction to discover what is most alive in your body, mind, heart and soul.  We offer practice-based community support and invite you to explore next steps on your own evolutionary journey.

Max Gaenslen: The ITP Kata

The ITP Kata is a 40-minute series of non-strenuous exercises designed to articulate all the muscle groups and joints in the body and involves deep rhythmic breathing, relaxation, transformational imaging and meditation. Created as a daily practice by George Leonard, Aikido sensei and ITP founder, the Kata vitalizes, balances and harmonizes one’s entire being.

Sam Clayton: The Dance of Purpose: Finding Flow, Dancing with Fear, and Owning Your Crazy on the Path to Full Purpose Awakening

Experience the flow, joy, and ecstatic power of purpose in realtime in this embodiment workshop/dance party/activist rally/soul ceremony all rolled into one. Yeah…it’s gonna be wild…and weird…and totally unpredictable…and maybe just the coolest, most beautiful celebration of purpose/life/divinity you ever did see? This is the first-of-its-kind experiment to see what happens when we collectively summon in the full, wild, sacred power of purpose into the space, into our bodies, and into this crazy world that so desperately cries out for it. This is the beginning of a full purpose awakening.

Spencer Honeyman: Enliven: Tuning Group as Purposeful Instrument

In this breakout session, we will practice both inner and outer listening through play, sound, rhythm, and movement. The problems we face as a planet require us to work creatively and efficiently together. To do so, we must learn to maintain connection with ourselves, while also attuning to the larger group. Music is a great place to practice this balance. For example: Can I hear myself, while simultaneously feeling the rest of the group? How is my part fitting in with the whole? From where in my body am I expressing? Are we coherent as a group, or incoherent? Come practice this dynamic way of listening and expressing as a collective.

Cynthia Hendricks: The Purpose Revolution

Purpose is the key to individual thriving – it is the way home to who we are and all our soul longs to express. The beautiful paradox of purpose is that which ignites personal thriving also feeds the most universal. Purpose is the potent portal to connect the individual to the collective.  Individual coherence is both the requisite and catalyst for social supercoherence – a place where our interiors individually and collectively co-conspire to usher in a just, sustainable, humane human presence on this planet. The presenter believes “purpose” is the most efficient and impactful route to supercoherence and thus THE quickest path to global transformation. It is an evolutionary hack to evolving the collective consciousness and to our collective thriving. If this is the game we are truly up to, are we really claiming the fullest potential of this work together? As a field, are we playing the biggest game possible? Perhaps the WHY of purpose work is even bigger than we have imagined. The Purpose Revolution is both a movement and a framework to create a NEW Paradigm of Purpose so that it becomes both a foundational and catalytic part of our culture. We invite you into this Revolutionary Vision so that all strands of the Purpose movement will benefit from co-elevation and world-changing impact.

Arnaud Delorme, Mikey Siegel, & Shamini Jain: The Power of We

How strong is our collective power?  What effects might global meditation for a common purpose have on our well-being individually and collectively, as well as on the fabric of reality itself?  Join the Power of We Team – Arnaud Delorne, Mikey Siegel, and Shamini Jain as they describe what we know scientifically about the power of collective consciousness, and where we are headed next with collective consciousness exploration.  Engage in a group collective purpose meditation, where we will collect initial data on the Power of We, and share our experience.
